International Relations  

Internationalization is a priority of Milan University as well as of the Department of International, Legal, Historical and Political Studies. It derives from the worldwide integration of political, social, financial, legal and cultural activities, which imply a trans-disciplinary and international approach on the part of our Department.

Internationalization is key to maintaining our high educational and research standards, attracting students and scholars from all over the world. According to this framework, DILHPS promotes many activities: It provides courses in English; It encourages our Faculty staff to improve the quality of research and teaching according to international standards; It increases the mobility and joint-research agreements with many prestigious Universities in the world; It signs new agreements in the context of Erasmus mobility.

The Department of International, Legal, Historical and Political Studies is committed to internationalization, international-cooperation, student mobility and cultural sensitivity. DILHPS is deeply committed to promoting and enlarging the amount of international relations, starting with the welcoming of visiting scholars and professors and arranging new agreements with foreign Universities, in Europe and abroad. DILHPS strives to collaborate with educational institutions, business, governments, foundations, benefactors and alumni around the world.

Milan University is member of 4EU+ Alliance (Charles University, Heidelberg University, Sorbonne University, Copenhagen University, Milan University and Warsaw University), so that DILHPS’s educational and research activities are strongly engaged to build fully and shared integrated programs for a European University System.

International activities involve all DILHPS’s teaching staff while counting on specific delegates:

International Affairs Department Delegate

The International relations delegate has to link the University’s internationalization strategies for teaching and research to the DILHPS's needs and characteristics in order to coordinate the Departments’ activities with those of the Milan University. The three main areas of action are: Increasing of International mobility agreements; Development and promotion among Colleagues of academic collaboration projects and international projects; Boost foreign scholars in DILHPS.

Erasmus and Traineeship Delegate

Prof. Piero Graglia

The Erasmus and Traineeship Delegate is a reference for all Erasmus Affairs. He performs activities aimed to encourage incoming and outgoing international students, especially regarding to mobility of Students and scholars’ Erasmus; to support New Erasmus agreements; to welcome desk for international students; to put in place strategies for cooperation with other Department delegates.

Supporting Group for International Affairs

In addition to the activities undertaken by each professor according to his/her research field, a working group to full support internationalization operates in the Department, with the main objective of proposing new academic agreements:
