XITh Transatlantic Intellectual Property Summer Academy

Internet Technology, Intellectual Property and International Economic Law

03-07 July 2017

General objectives

From 3 to 7 July 2017, the Department of International, legal, Historical and Political Studies at the University of Milan organizes the Eleventh edition of the Transatlantic Intellectual Property Summer Academy, jointly with Bocconi University. The topic of this tenth edition will be “Internet Technology, Intellectual Property and International Economic Law”. Taking advantage of the TIPSA’s well-established multidisciplinary approach and its constant attention to the pervasive impact of technological progress on the economy, this year’s Summer Academy will focus on the international intellectual property and international economic law and policy intersections with Internet technologies. Attention will be paid also to the business and management dimension of these intersections.

Leading experts from universities, research centers, think tanks, intergovernmental organizations, law firms and businesses coming from both sides of the Atlantic will lecture on the challenges of Internet technologies and the way in which international intellectual property and economic law relate to, and regulate, them.

The horizontal teaching and constant contacts with IP operators will also allow a thorough discussion of the management of intellectual property rights, thanks also to real-life case studies directed by renowned experts in international IP and trade.
